This page explains what information gets collected when you use kadenbuch.com, why it is needed, and how it is handled.

I run this site myself as an engineering student and maker. I do not run advertisements, I do not sell personal data, and I do not use third-party tracking pixels.

1. Information collected

Contact and inquiry form

When you use the contact form at /inquire, I ask for your name, email address, an optional organization, and your message. This information is used strictly so I can read your note and reply to you. It is never added to a marketing mailing list or shared with third parties.

Store checkout and order fulfillment

When you purchase a physical item from the shop, checkout collects:

Your name and email address
Your shipping address (for physical items)
Any optional custom sizing notes or extra requests you choose to provide

This information is used strictly to pack and ship your order and keep you updated on its status.

Payment processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe Checkout. When you complete a purchase, your card details go directly to Stripe’s secure servers. kadenbuch.com never sees, handles, or stores your credit card number or security code. Stripe provides this site with a confirmation of whether payment succeeded, an order identifier, and basic charge status so your order can be confirmed.

Guest access links

To protect your privacy while keeping things simple, this site does not require you to create an account or password. Instead, when you place an order, you receive a private capability link (under /access/...) that lets you view your order status and shipment details. There is no public lookup tool that lets strangers search for orders by email or order number.

2. First-party analytics

I track basic, anonymous site usage to understand what projects and products people find interesting and where visitors come from.

Here is how analytics works on this site:

First-party only: All analytics events are recorded directly by this server. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixels, and no third-party tracking scripts.
Aggregate trends: I look at general counts such as page visits, popular projects, and the checkout funnel (visits â†’ product views â†’ cart additions â†’ checkout starts â†’ completed purchases).
No surveillance: I do not use session replay software, keystroke loggers, or browser fingerprinting.
No data joining: Browsing activity is never linked to your contact inquiries, your customer profile, or your personal name and address.
Data retention: Raw anonymous event records are automatically cleaned up after 90 days. Aggregate monthly and daily totals are kept for up to 24 months to observe broad trends over time.

3. Server logs and security

Like virtually any web server, standard connection information (such as IP addresses, requested URLs, and error codes) is logged temporarily for rate limiting, spam prevention, and operational debugging. These logs are maintained for standard server maintenance and security.

Privacy

This site collects what it needs to answer a message, fulfill an order, or understand aggregate traffic.

Reviews are collected only from a private invitation after an order is fulfilled. A review is linked to that verified purchase. It is not public until it is approved. While public reviews are off, product pages do not show reviews.

Promotional email is sent only after you check an optional consent box. You can unsubscribe from a private email-preferences link without an account. Order mail and review invitations are not promotional messages.

First-party analytics keep raw events for 90 days. Analytics are not joined to inquiries or customer records.

Checkout, order access links, review links, and email preference links are private and are not indexed.
